This so refreshing ginger lemonade must definitely be on your go-to summer drinks list.
But your imagination should not stop here. There’re endless ways to enjoy a summer lemonade, and especially if kids are involved. One of the best ways to keep them entertained (and adults as well) is to organize a lemonade stand and throw a small party. Everyone will be happy and well hydrated.
And speaking of kids, Zoe from ThinkBaby.org has some amazing advices on her blog about mother’s lifestyle, so go check that out.
As you probably noticed, herb addition has been THE way of cooking for me this summer. I basically added them in almost every dish I made, especially in the desserts and drinks.
For this ginger lemonade I went the extra mile and added, along with rosemary, a good pinch of lemon thyme, as its flavour is just amazing. The floral/woodsy taste is mixed with the refreshing lemon aroma…Mmmm, can you possibly ask for more? 🙂
Go look for it in the farmers markets, or the maybe gather some seeds and grow your own, and you’ll forever be in love with its flavour.
The main flavour for this ginger lemonade was obtained by mixing in a small sauce pan, slices of ginger, rosemary leaves, lemon thyme and orange blossom water and let them infuse for a couple of minutes.
I chose not to make a separate syrup for it, but to add raw honey after mixing the lemon juice and the flavour base.
It’s better we consume honey in its raw state and not heat it up, as we will destroy most of honey’s natural nutrients and antioxidants.
I’ll leave you now with the recipe.
Don’t forget to stay hydrated and drop me a comment if you try out this recipe, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
Love,
Cori
